Well, today was the day to pack thr truck and trailer for our trek out west. Glenn and I along with the help of three of our students (Sam, Mac, and Sara) managed to get alomost all of the gear stowed before one heck of a thunderstorm rolled through Cincinnati. Hail and more than 1/2-inch of rain in about 10 minutes (and more than a few nearby lightning strikes) made for less than ideal conditions for standing on a 20' aluminum trailer.
We managed to get everything loaded in a little less than three hours and then went our separate ways for one last evening with family and friends. We'll be leaving Cincinnati at around 10 a.m. on Monday morning, aiming for Iowa City or possibly Des Moines on our first day of driving. I will be posting a long the way as possible.
Keep checking back!
