This is the lovely sign that greeted the Week 2 Participants last night. Yes, we have had multiple black bear sightings at YBRA. The bear has only tried to enter the kitchen and not anyone's personal cabin. It has even announced its arrival by ringing the dinner bell outside the main lodge a few nights ago! Not to worry, no one has had any close encounters.This experience also allows you to enjoy the flora and fauna of the area. At YBRA, you can see: black bears, hummingbirds, woodpeckers, wild turkeys, the occasional moose and more all from the comfort of your rocking chair on their large, cozy back porch.
From the Beartooth Plateau you witness this amazing 360 degree view of Montana & Wyoming. However, just under foot is some quaint but beautiful flowers, as well as orange lichen!
The Field School is more than unearthing dinosaur bones, it is about experiencing things that can take your breath away, learning new skills and creating memories.

I wish I was still in beautiful Montana. Real life is so over-rated. Thanks for the trip to the Plesiosaur site. That was really groovy! The dig is such a fantastic and unusual experience and learning opportunity. It was great working with such experienced crew members and guests and Pat's cooking is truly "bad to the bone!" (of course I mean fabulous). Hard to believe I had 3 little pigs in the race and they all lost. I had bacon for breakfast in their honor. I know it's a lot of extra work to host guest volunteers on this type of project. Just know that your extra effort is greatly appreciated. The Cincinnati Museum Center has my vote!

Week one was a great experience. I was one of the sad faces, wishing I could stay. Everyone involved, museum pros, volunteers, YBRA staff made the week a pleasure.
